Welcome to StudyDock. These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") govern your access to and use of our website, listings, and related services. By using StudyDock, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the platform.

1. About StudyDock

StudyDock is an online directory that helps students and parents discover tuition classes and connect with tutors and institutes across Sri Lanka. We provide listing, search, and inquiry tools. We are not a tuition provider and we do not employ tutors listed on the platform.

2. Eligibility & Accounts

You must provide accurate registration information and keep your account secure.
You are responsible for all activity under your account.
We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or applicable law.
Students, parents, tutors, and institutes may use the platform in accordance with their account type and our community guidelines.

3. Advertiser & Listing Policy

The following rules apply to tutors, institutes, and anyone posting a class advertisement ("Advertiser") on StudyDock:

3.1 Listing accuracy

All listing details, including subject, grade, syllabus, district, fees, qualifications, and contact information, must be truthful, current, and not misleading.
Advertisers must have the legal right and practical ability to deliver the classes they promote.
Duplicate, spam, or deceptive listings are prohibited.

3.2 Moderation & approval

Listings, profile content, reviews, and comments may be reviewed before or after publication.
We may approve, reject, edit, unpublish, or remove any listing or content at our sole discretion, with or without notice.
Verification badges and featured placement indicate platform review or paid promotion only. They are not a guarantee of quality, safety, or results.

3.3 Free & paid listings

Free listing quotas and features may change from time to time and are described on our Pricing page.
Paid options (such as featured listings or listing boosts) are optional upgrades arranged via our support channels unless otherwise stated.
Advertisers must comply with any listing limits, expiry dates, and plan conditions applicable to their account.

3.4 Prohibited listing content

Advertisers may not post content that:

Is false, fraudulent, defamatory, obscene, discriminatory, or unlawful
Infringes intellectual property or privacy rights
Promises guaranteed exam results, ranks, or outcomes (see Section 6)
Redirects users away from StudyDock for the purpose of circumventing platform rules or fees
Contains malware, unsolicited bulk contact details, or unrelated commercial spam

3.5 Advertiser responsibilities

Respond to inquiries in a professional and timely manner where possible.
Honor fees and schedules agreed directly with students unless renegotiated with the student or parent.
Comply with applicable education, consumer, tax, and local laws in Sri Lanka.
Obtain any required permissions for online teaching, home visits, or use of student data.

4. Students & Parents

Browsing listings and sending inquiries is generally free for students and parents.
You are responsible for evaluating tutors, verifying credentials, and deciding whether a class is suitable.
Lesson fees, schedules, refunds, and disputes regarding tuition are agreed directly between you and the tutor or institute, not with StudyDock.

5. Payments, Platform Fees & No Refunds

StudyDock does not collect or process tuition fees between students and tutors unless explicitly stated on a specific feature.
Any fees paid to StudyDock for optional services (such as featured listings, listing boosts, or similar promotions) are for platform visibility and support only.
All platform service fees are non-refundable, including where a listing is rejected, removed, expires, receives fewer inquiries than expected, or where an account is suspended for breach of these Terms.
Chargebacks or payment disputes may result in account suspension and recovery of associated costs where permitted by law.
Paid services activate only after we confirm payment through our stated process (for example, via WhatsApp or other approved channels).

6. No Guaranteed Outcomes

StudyDock and its advertisers do not guarantee any academic result, exam pass, rank, university admission, grade improvement, or other outcome. Tuition results depend on many factors including student effort, attendance, prior knowledge, and external circumstances.

Listings and marketing must not claim guaranteed passes, fixed ranks, or certain results unless supported by verifiable, lawful evidence. Even then, StudyDock does not endorse such claims.
We are not liable for disappointment, academic performance, or decisions made based on listings or tutor statements.
Any testimonials or reviews reflect individual experiences and are not promises of similar results for others.

7. Reviews & User Content

Users may submit reviews or comments subject to moderation.
You grant StudyDock a non-exclusive licence to display, reproduce, and moderate content you submit.
You must not post content that is abusive, false, or violates another person's rights.
We may remove content that breaches these Terms without notice.

8. Intellectual Property

StudyDock branding, software, and site design are owned by us or our licensors.
Advertisers retain ownership of their listing text and photos but grant us permission to display them on the platform for marketing the service.
You may not copy, scrape, or redistribute listing content or images for commercial use without permission.

9. Privacy

Our collection and use of personal data is described in our Privacy Policy. By using StudyDock, you also agree to that policy.

10. Disclaimers & Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law:

The platform is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis without warranties of any kind.
We do not warrant uninterrupted access, error-free operation, or the conduct of any user.
StudyDock is not a party to agreements between students and tutors and is not responsible for tutor conduct, lesson quality, safety, or payment disputes.
Our total liability arising from your use of the platform shall not exceed the amount you paid to StudyDock in the twelve (12) months before the claim, or LKR 5,000, whichever is greater, except where liability cannot be excluded by law.

11. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless StudyDock, its owners, and staff from claims, losses, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your listings, your conduct, your breach of these Terms, or your violation of any law or third-party rights.

12. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The revised version will be posted on this page with an updated date. Continued use of StudyDock after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

13. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka. Courts in Sri Lanka shall have exclusive jurisdiction, subject to mandatory consumer protection laws that may apply.
